Before packing away all the Christmas decorations and red linens (until Valentine’s Day at least), I could not resist a mini tablescape in the kitchen for New Year’s Day.
Plates: Vintage “Connecticut Laurel” porcelain dishes designed exclusively for G. Fox and Co. by Wedgewood of Etruria and Barlaston, made in England. These plates feature the Connecticut Laurel with the State of Connecticut Seal and lovely laurels and leaves around scalloped edges as well as florals in the center (Once America’s largest privately-owned department store, G. Fox & Co. operated in downtown Hartford, Connecticut, from 1847 until 1993).
Placemats (Les Epis, red) with coordinating napkins (Chloe, Rose) from Pierre Deux (sadly, this store went bankrupt and closed but you can still find these linens on eBay)
Napkin rings from Pier 1 Imports
Centerpiece: glass Christmas tree taper holders (Williams Sonoma) on vintage Winchester plate (Johnson Bros)
