This is my first visit to Tablescape Thursday on Between Naps on the Porch. My husband and I are hosting both sets of parents for an “Apres Christmas Dinner” at our house this week so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to tablescape!! I started with a newly purchased set of placemats featuring a holly berry pattern with coordinating napkins and runner (from April Cornell-purchased at The Garden Cottage, Morristown, NJ). Most of the elements of this tablescape come from local (Northern NJ) home decor shops as well as antique dealers in the towns of Chatham, Madison, Summit, Morristown, Mendham, and Bernardsville:
Centerpiece: green vase with gold etching (purchased last year from Grand Bazaar antiques in Mendham, NJ) filled with fresh seeded eucalyptus (J&M Garden, Madison, NJ) as well as faux holly berry branches (The Garden Cottage, Morristown, NJ)
China: Spode/”Christmas Memories” pattern (purchased on eBay 5 years ago)
Stemware: green depression glass goblets (purchased today very inexpensively at Summit Antique Center, Summit, NJ)
Napkin Rings: silver bejeweled snowflakes from Pottery Barn (last season)
Placecards: These are authentic vintage Christmas postcards (dated 1908-1910) with original notes which I use as placecards (from Summit Antique Center, Summit, NJ)
Salt & Pepper shakers: gingerbread men S&P shakers (from the Summit Sampler, Summit, NJ)Candles: holly berry embellished candles designed by Etal (purchased at Meli Melo in Bernardsville, NJ) with red beaded candle rings (from Home Sweet Home, Chatham, NJ)
Hey Laura! I love this. congrats on launching your own blog. While I can’t even imagine doing tablescapes (unless they were Lego themed) I applaud you and your creativity. I will be back to see what you do next!
