I found these pretty Chinese Cloisonne tea spoons during a recent visit to Country Antiques in Pluckemin, New Jersey. It is a neat antique shop that has been there forever. Interesting fact: the shop owner’s daughter showed me a bunch of cancelled checks signed by Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis who used to frequent the shop (she kept her horses at a nearby stable for many years).

Chinese Cloisonne is a special kind of artwork dating back to the time of Jingtai of Ming Dynasty (1450-1456). I love that each spoon features a different color and flower making it fun to coordinate with a mix of tea cups and saucers. In Feng Shui, many flowers are utilized for good fortune and success. This is because healthy flowering plants manifest good Chi. Therefore, flowers as symbols are representative of that same flourishing, flow of strong energy. Additionally, flower symbols convey beauty, grace, and perfection. They are also excellent symbols of love, adoration, and unity.

These tea spoons will make a nice addition to my collection of vintage tea cups and saucers-perfect for tea parties with the ladies!
